ABSTRACT
The construction and operation of a pump that provides the appropriate flux boundary condition to simulate constant potential horizontal absorption is described. It is demonstrated experimentally that this flux boundary condition is equivalent to the constant potential boundary condition and that its application overcomes the problem of poor reproducibility in experiments.
