ABSTRACT
A study of the selective distribution of the nutrient elements Mn, Fe, Zn, Co, and Cu and plant response for soils from Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, and Florida showed that selective distribution was related to plant response.
The labile pool expressed in ppm for the elements Mn, Fe, Zn, Co, and Cu may be plotted against the selective distribution resulting in the best relationship between soil characteristics and plant uptake. It appears that the selective distribution labile pool plot will have universal application as a diagnostic method for assessing the fertility level of Mn, Fe, Zn, Co, and Cu.
