ABSTRACT
A method was developed to analyze for aqueous-solution sulfate by precipitation by barium and measuring the remaining barium by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The method compared favorably with a turbidimetric and a gravimetric method. Sensitivity was 1.5 ppm S/1% absorption. The method could be used without dilutions for solutions containing up to 150 ppm S.
