Determination of Soil Aluminum by Fluorescence1

ABSTRACT

A procedure was developed for soil Al determination based on the fluorescence of the Al salt of 8-hydroxyquinoline in chloroform. The method was effective in determining both exchangeable and total Al. Highly accurate results were obtained on samples varying widely in Al content.
