The Occurrence of High Molecular Weight Organic Phosphorus Compounds in Soil1

R. L. Thomas and B. T. Bowman2

ABSTRACT

An extraction procedure using the chelating resin Dowex A-1 after an HF-HCl pretreatment is described for the extraction of high molecular weight organic phosphorus compounds. This procedure appears to reduce the degradation of high molecular weight compounds that occur with more drastic extraction techniques now in use
