ABSTRACT
Incorporation of either ZnO or ZnSO4 into fertilizer reduced the water solubility of Zn, the Zn uptake by pea beans, and the final yield as compared to the same rate and carrier of Zn hand mixed with fertilizer at planting time. Zn-EDTA chelate remained 100% water-soluble when coated on the fertilizer granule in conjunction with MnSO4; however, it was only 40% water-soluble if coated in conjunction with MnO, and only 10% water-soluble if incorporated into the fertilizer granule. The reduced water solubility was reflected in the uptake of Zn and the yield of pea beans.
