ABSTRACT
The humidity of the atmosphere surrounding samples in the X-ray diffractometer should be controlled because clay minerals lose or gain water to obtain equilibrium, with resultant changes in basal spacings. A simple apparatus achieves this by supplying air at any desired relative humidity.
